Iain Broome has written his first (proper) post for his fabulous new website, Write for Your Life. Writers, abandon your muses - they’re a work of fiction! he says. Hmm… for no good reason whatsoever I can recite the opening lines of The Odyssey off the top of my head. In Homeric Greek. Still, I can also recite certain Gospel passages in Aramaic, and I don’t buy into that. But the topic fascinates me so I think I’ll muse a little more upon the matter before I formulate my written response for comment goodness.
In the meantime my musical response is Gospel with No Lord by Camille; “I didn’t get it from the Lord… I got it from myself.”

Simon Armitage dramatisation...it’s all good, but I’m guessing McKellan’s reading is all...
